Border Patrol agents pulled over a pickup driver on Interstate 5 near San Onofre Thursday and found 26 pounds of cocaine in the center console, the agency said.

Agents made the traffic stop about 8:30 a.m. near the border checkpoint north of San Onofre, near the Orange County line. A drug-sniffing dog reacted to the Ford F-150, the agency said.

A search of the pickup turned up 12 bundles of cocaine weighing a total of about 26.5 pounds tucked into a secret compartment under the front seat center console. The drugs are worth an estimated $423,360 on the street, officials said.
