Hot, sticky weather returning to East County
A heat advisory will be in effect across most of East County from noon Sunday to 8 p.m. on Wednesday as high pressure -- and maybe a bit of the monsoon -- raises the temperature and humidity.
The National Weather Service says that the high pressure will push temperatures from the low 90s to low 100s across the mountains, valleys and desert areas. There's some chance of lightning in the mountains.
The monsoon is expected to begin creeping in from Baja California Sunday into Monday.
Onshore breezes and the marine layer will keep coastal areas comparatively cool, with daytime highs in the 70s.
