New heat wave to hit San Diego County

Share

A new heat wave is expected to develop across San Diego County Sunday and Monday, with temperatures rising as much as 20 degrees above normal in some areas, says the National Weather Service.

The high pressure system will drive temperatures to 100 and above across some inland valleys, although the heat wave isn’t expected to be as intense as the one that hit earlier this week.

Forecasters say the region will turn noticeably warmer on Sunday. Then temperatures will shoot up on Monday, with daytime highs in the upper 90s and low 100s inland. A seabreeze will keep coastal areas in the mid-70s, four to five degrees above normal.
