Camp Pendleton blaze 65 percent contained
A Camp Pendleton brush fire that has charred 1,345 acres was 65 percent contained as of Saturday evening, fire officials said.
The blaze, on the northern end of the Marine Corps base, has not posed a threat to personnel or structures.

This story has been updated to reflect that the area burned by the fire had grown from 800 as of Friday night to 1,345 acres as of Saturday.
The flames broke out Thursday afternoon. Firefighting aircraft have been assisting firefighters on the ground, including crews from Cal Fire.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
