Boy falls onto metal fence, arm impaled
Oceanside —
A 9-year-old boy who was playing outside a friend’s Oceanside home fell and impaled his arm on a wrought-iron fence Saturday, authorities said.
The boy was airlifted to a trauma center. No information about his condition was available.
The boy was climbing on a brick wall, slipped, and fell onto the metal fence at the home on Avery Street, near Festival Drive, Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Cosby said.
He said police officers got there about 5 p.m. and found adult holding up the child, relieving pressure on his impaled left arm. He was about three feet off the ground, Cosby said. Paramedics assisted the boy.
