Mobile home up in flames near Boulevard

A mobile home was heavily damaged but no one was injured by a fire Friday afternoon in a rural East County community near Boulevard, a fire official said.

The blaze was reported about 1 p.m. along state Route 94 near Old Highway 80 and Jewel Valley Road.

The single-wide mobile home was engulfed in flames when firefighters got there, Cal Fire Capt. Kendal Bortisser said. He said people who lived on the property were there, and were not injured.

The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
