Threat of jumper closes SD-Coronado Bridge
CORONADO —
Traffic was shut down across the San Diego-Coronado Bridge for about 20 minutes Friday while police talked a man out of jumping into the bay, authorities said.
The man got out of a cab on the bridge, then was threatening to leap from the bridge shortly before 2 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol website. Traffic was quickly blocked by the CHP and Coronado police.
A negotiator talked to him, then he surrendered about 2:20 p.m.
