Chargers-Jags game on blackout watch

Share

The last Chargers home game arguably had the best atmosphere at Qualcomm Stadium in years.

The next one could be blacked out.

San Diego has about 6,000 general tickets unsold for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, a team spokesman said Monday. It is difficult to imagine the game doesn’t find a way to be locally televised live, but the risk of a blackout is nonetheless of note. The league-imposed deadline is Thursday at 1:05 p.m.

The Chargers defeated the defending champion Seahawks when last seen at Qualcomm on Sept. 14.

At 2-1, they’ll return two weeks later tied with Denver for first in the AFC West.

San Diego was an underdog its first three games this season. It’s now coming off consecutive upset wins and is listed as a 14-point favorite over Jacksonville, according to Bovada.
