Hells Angel mows down man with cane

A known Hells Angel motorcycle gang member mowed down a man using a cane in an Oceanside crosswalk after making vulgar comments to the man’s daughter-in-law Tuesday.

A husband, wife and father-in-law were passing the PCH Sports Bar on South Coast Highway near Kelly Street when a patron who was with two other men began making inappropriate sexual comments to the wife, Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Cosby said.

The wife and then the husband turned to address the man as the comments became more vulgar, but the father-in-law convinced them to keep walking, Cosby said. The patron continued to yell obscenities as they walked away and threatened to hit them, Cosby said.

“He said ‘I’ll get you. I’ll get you. I’ll come and hit you,’ Cosby said.

They were crossing the street about a block north when the bar patron, now in a white Lexus, sped through the intersection and struck the father-in-law about 4 p.m.

The driver — identified as Anthony Medvec, a Hells Angels motorcycle gang member — fled and witnesses pursued him. The victim suffered several broken bones and a collapsed lung.

Medvac, 31, is on federal probation and is required to wear an electronic monitoring device. His monitor showed him at his Oceanside home about 11:50 p.m. Police called his residence and he was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
