Outage hits nearly 7,000 across central SD
SAN DIEGO —
Power outages in Serra Mesa and from Normal Heights nearly to the College area left almost 7,000 utility customers in the dark Saturday night.
The outages began shortly before 10 p.m. Repairs in Serra Mesa were completed by about 10:45 p.m., but the other areas were expected to be out until 12:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Gas & Electric Co. website.
Communities affected included Mission Valley, Kearny Mesa and Tierrasanta as well as North Park, University Heights and Talmage. The SDG& E website said a total of 6,917 customers had no electricity. The cause of the outages wasn’t known.
