15 bone-chilling Buffalo snow photos plus a surfing video

Snow totals near Buffalo, New York, were nothing short of mind-boggling Wednesday as more than five feet fell on the area, leaving six people dead and more than 100 trapped on Interstate 90, which was shut down for 140 miles.

Here are 15 photos and a surfing video — yes, surfing! — that will make you glad you're nowhere near New York.

Two other brave Buffalo residents bundled up in the 26-degree weather to go surfing. And they recorded it on video.
