Following are results from recent local government meetings:

CITY COUNCILS

CARLSBAD

The Carlsbad City Council on Tuesday approved contrcts and service agreements for Fire Station No. 3; introduced an ordinance amending the municipal code regarding council policy for appointments to boards, commissions and committees; conducted a hearing and approved Costco’s request for a conditional use permit to expand its gas station on Palomar Airport Road; introduced an ordinance to allow a zone change and other permits for construction of a new sanctuary and parking lot expansion at Daybreak Community Church at Poinsettia Lane, Ambrosia Lane, and Fisherman Drive; and approved a resolution to amend the Village Master Plan to allow wineries as a provisional use.

DEL MAR

The Del Mar City Council on Monday agreed to set a hearing to consider an appeal of the Design Review Board’s permits for a two-story home on Ocean View Avenue; and adopted a specific plan process and its extended community outreach for the Watermark project.

ESCONDIDO

The Escondido City Council on Wednesday approved a successor contract for the non-sworn bargaining unit of the Police Officers Association; approved a successor memorandum of understanding for the Escondido City Employees Association supervisory bargaining unit; approved an amendment to a consulting agreement for additional archaeological mitigation services for the Citracado Parkway Extension Project; and approved submission of the initiative measure “Adopt the Lakes Specific Plan” for the November ballot, and received a presentation on a staff report on the measure.

SAN MARCOS

The San Marcos City Council on Tuesday approved modifications to the municipal code restricting wireless communication facilities; and adopted a resolution establishing parking restrictions in the Barham/Discovery industrial area.

SCHOOL DISTRICTS

DEL MAR

The Del Mar Union School District board on Wednesday ratified employment agreements with assistant superintendents and the superintendent; and conducted a first reading of the proposed modification to the attendance boundary for Sycamore Ridge and Ashley Falls schools, and the item will return for a vote next month.

FALLBROOK

The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District board on Monday approved the superintendent’s employment contract; approved three-year employment agreements with associate superintendents of business services and educational services; and approved an agreement with The Spark Programs for training for formal P.E. instruction.
