Choral boosters seek sponsors for golf tournament

The Carlsbad High School Choral Boosters group has lined up several local sponsors for its third annual Choir Golf Classic, but organizers say there is plenty of room for more.

This year’s Golf Classic will be held Sept. 14 at The Crossings at Carlsbad.

The golf tournament is the biggest fundraiser for the school’s award-winning vocal music program. Last year, the event raised $36,000, which helped fund costumes, choreographers, vocal clinicians, competition fees, and other choral needs.

The 2014 Golf Classic fundraising goal is $50,000. Businesses and individual supporters may contribute through sponsorships, in-kind donations, raffle items, buying a $20 golf ball for a chance to win $2,500, or signing up to play as a golf foursome.

Sponsors so far include The Crossings at Carlsbad, Jersey Mike’s, Jerry Chen Photography, Belching Beaver Brewery, BMW of Encinitas, Land & Water Co., LaMar Real Estate, and PODS.
