Woman dies in crash with car carrier

Share

A woman was killed early Saturday and her two passengers injured after rear-ending a car carrier that had stopped on the side of Interstate 5 in Cardiff.

California Highway Patrol officials said the driver of the car carrier had pulled off to the side of the northbound freeway just north of Manchester Avenue about 2 a.m. to fix a loose strap.

While he was tightening the strap on the back right corner of his truck, the woman, driving a 2009 Nissan Sentra, drifted off the interstate and crashed into the back right portion of the trailer.
