Heat wave to coincide with Comic-Con
Headed to Comic-Con this week? Make sure to hydrate. Otherwise, you'll wilt while standing in line to get into the San Diego Convention Center. The National Weather Service says that a three day heat spell will take hold on Wednesday, just as hordes of people arrive in the city for Thursday's start of Comic-Con, which is expected to draw more than 130,000 people through Sunday. The high temperature downtown will hit 79 on Wednesday, 84 on Thursday and 82 on Friday. The average at Lindbergh Field this time of year is 75. Inland areas -- places like Escondido and Ramona -- will reach the mid-to-upper 90s.
Through Saturday, the average temperature at Lindbergh Field for July was 72.9 degrees, or 3.4 degrees above normal.
