Coach: Andy Reid

Record: 149-105-1 (19-12 with Chiefs)

• Reid, 56, grew up in Los Angeles. Played tackle and guard for BYU.

• Master of the West Coast offense but not slavishly devoted to it. Coached under Mike Holmgren, a former aide to 49ers Hall of Fame coach Bill Walsh.

• Went to four consecutive NFC title games, winning one, during his 14-season run as Eagles head coach. Chiefs went from 2-14 without Reid to 11-5 with him.

• Said to be better at teaching and planning than running a game; ex-Browns GM Michael Lombardi said Reid should outsource his game-day tasks to India.

RB Jamaal Charles

Quick, fast and elusive. Has developed as a pass-catcher under Reid. Concussed Chargers CB Brandon Flowers, a friend and former Chiefs teammate, when the two collided near the goal-line in the Chiefs’ 23-20 win in Week 7.

LB Justin Houston

Explosive and powerful. NFL sack leader with 18. Had a sack against Chargers RT D.J. Fluker in Week 7. Gets help from three above-average front defenders in Tamba Hali, Dontari Poe and Allen Bailey.

TE Travis Kelce

Fast, agile pass-catcher who lines up in several spots. Only a so-so blocker. Broke tackle tries of Chargers Donald Butler and Jahleel Addae to clinch victory Oct. 19 at Jack Murphy Field.
