Rock Hall of Famer Carlos Santana is on a roll.

In early December, the former Tijuana guitar slinger was one of 2013's five Kennedy Center Honors recipients, along with Herbie Hancock and Billy Joel.

Less than two weeks later, he filmed two HBO TV special in Guadalajara, where he headlined an all-star concert. It teamed him with his wife, drum great Cindy Blackman Santana and such Latin music stars as Juanes, Gloria Estefan, Juanes, Miguel, Fher Olvera of Mana, Lila Downs, Nina Pastori, Salvador Santana, Samuel Rosa, Romeo Santos, Soledad and Diego Torres. (The second of those specials, "Santana-Corazon: Live from Mexico: Live It to Believe It," air May 3 on HBO Latino.)

All of these musicians are guests on Santana's new album, "Corazón," which is due out May 6 and is his first featuring songs sung entirely in Spanish and Portuguese. It remains to be seen ifhe'll tour with any of his Latin American guests, but on May 23 Santana and Rod Stewart embark on a joint North American concert trek. Their tour skips San Diego, but does include a July 26 date at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine.

In the meanwhile, here's the video for "Saideira," the second single from "Corazón." Its title translates as "last drink" or "nightcap." The song's melody and cha cha-meets-cucaracha groove sound, at least to these ears, not unlike "Smooth," the chart-topping 1999 Santana hit that featured Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas.

Santana, with Samuel Rosa, "Saideira"

In a press release about their collaboration, Rosa (the lead singer in the Brazilian rock band Skank) said: "Recording the song 'Saideira' has been a fulfilling experience for me, and it has been such an incredible honor working with the great master Carlos Santana. I could never imagine that one day I would be sharing the stage with the guitar man who has influenced me with his solos, amazing compositions and has been a fundamental part of my musical education."
