New Escondido high school opens doors for community

The Escondido Union High School District is holding a community open house for its newest campus.

The event will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Del Lago Academy — Campus of Applied Science, 1740 Scenic Trails Way.

The comprehensive high school, with an emphasis on biotechnology and health sciences, opened in August with freshmen and sophomore classes. The district is encouraging neighbors, families, community members, and potential future students to visit. Tours and demonstrations are planned, and refreshments will be served.
