Ramona power outage over

Share

Power was restored Sunday afternoon to all 4,500 customers in Ramona who were part of a large outage that began just after 10 a.m., said a spokeswoman for San Diego Gas & Electric.

The outage was the result of a failed capacitor and was not related to Sunday’s Santa Ana weather conditions, said the spokeswoman, Cathleen Romero.

Romero said SDG&E was able to fix the problem more quickly because extra crews were in the Ramona area for a red flag warning the utility issued due to increased wildfire risk in the area.

About 2,000 of the affected customers got power back just before noon, with the remainder having it restored about 1:30 p.m., Romero said.
